Today I welcome the legendary voice of the Springfield Indians & current play by play voice of the Carolina Hurricanes (along with NBCSN), future Hall of Famer John Forslund to the Penalty Box. While we focused mostly on John's time with his hometown Springfield Indians, we discuss how he decided on his career path, his time on Long Island at Adelphi University, the origin of his signature call and John opens up his memory banks to give his thoughts on the ruffians who called Springfield home during their time as the Islanders primary affiliate. Thanks for tuning in everybody! Today I welcome Brent Severyn to the Penalty Box. Sevy played 84 games with the Islanders, lighting the lamp twice, dishing out 11 helpers and amassing 214 PIMs. Brent is one of the classiest guys I know and he's a real easy guy to root for. A tremedous leader, tough as nails & chiseled out of granite. While I didn't research it too thoroughly I'm fairly confident Sevy's one of the few guys to win back to back championships in 2 different leagues on 2 different continents. I thank Brent for his time. I hope you people enjoy it!

Thanks for tuning in everybody! Today I welcome Jamie Rivers to the Penalty Box. Jamie spent one season with the Islanders (1999-00) accumulating 17 points & 84 PIMs (his second highest single-season total as a professional). While Jamie readily admits dropping the gloves wasn't a primary job of his, it cannot be argued that his style of play led to many scraps as he says "keeping the big boys in business". Rivs has a million stories and he shares several gems with us today. At the end we discuss some stories submitted by a few former teammates and we finish up with his partner in crime from the Blues NHL Podcast Darin Kimble getting some comeuppance for all the "Buffalo-head" jokes! I hope you people enjoy it!

Thanks for tuning in everybody! Today I welcome Mick Vukota to the Penalty Box...a place he spent 1,879 minutes of his Islanders life. That's over 31 hours!! He has over 2,000 career NHL PIMs & well over 4,000 starting with Canadian Junior hockey. Few players take as much pride in being an Islander as Mick does. Mick's fight card is a veritable "who's who" of heavyweights. Mick was extremely generous with his time & I'm so grateful to him for that. Part two will drop next Monday!
